In 1977, Local 1 - the registered nurses at the Calgary General Hospital - unionized.  United Nurses of Alberta (UNA) was born!  Our union now represents over 24,000 members across Alberta and has approximately 162 Locals.

Local 1 serves the members of the Peter Lougheed Centre of the Calgary General Hospital, as well as members at the Sunridge Medical Gallery and Sunridge Professional Building.
