Welcome to Local 1's Web Site!                                                                                  In 1977, Local 1 - the registered nurses at the Calgary General Hospital - unionized.  United Nurses of Alberta (UNA) was born!  Our union now represents over 24,000 members across Alberta and has approximately 162 Locals. Local 1 serves the members of the Peter Lougheed Centre of the Calgary General Hospital, as well as members at the Southern Alberta Forensic Psych Centre, Sunridge Medical Gallery and Sunridge Professional Building.
